Torre Bizensio
The place was great. An excellent restoration.
Cynthia was very helpful.
Maybe the best house we have ever stayed in.
beautiful and well-run
Palazzo Terranova is a beautiful property . It is well run and the staff is excellent. no request went unanswered. The staff is proactive and eager to please. They made several excellent suggestions for activities, meals, etc. The food is light and delicious and prepared with care. All manners of special requests (5 children!) were promptly accommodated. Only complaint is that LR's website indicates that all rooms are air-conditioned, when in fact none is. The weather was fairly cool when we were there, so it was not an enormous issue. But that area does ususally get hot in the summer
Beautiful, pastoral setting with a well-equipped comfortable house.
The house is spacious and suitable for a large family or several families. The beds are comfortable and there are plenty of bathrooms to go around. The kitchen is well-equipped and the outdoor dining area is amazing. Our fondest memories of the house are enjoying a local wine while sitting under the large olive trees and watching the horses nearby.
Beautifull experience in North Umbria
We rented the house Casa Lazzari in June 2011 and stayed there for 2 weeks. It was a fantastic experience, beautifull house, splendid scenery and what a view. We spend several evenings listing to classical music and enjoying the sunset over the Umbrian hills.
We had a great service from the agency on site, the people were very helpfull and friendly, also quick to react on some small issues we encountered during our stay.
It is very isolated and we enjoyed our privacy
Just one slight comment, since the villa was closed before us the pool hadn't had the time to warm up prpperly, as a consequence the first week it was rather chilly
a trip of a lifetime
The villa was gorgeous. Lesley the estate manager handled us with care, kindness and very professionally. The villa was maintained to perfection. There was only one item that the villa did not come stocked with that we needed and that was a knife sharpener and we bought one for them:) The villa is located very close to many touring sites in Umbria/Tuscany. So many that we could not visit them all in this one trip. The maid and gardener were both wonderful. The tours that you set up for us were both really wonderful as well. However, the tour guide in Sienna was a bit wordy and felt the tour could have been an hour shorter and still would have walked away with the same experience. Our cheese tasting tour was such a wonderful way to spend the day. We had a little bit of everything in that day with a wonderful driver as well and comfortable mini bus.

fantastic
My friends and I had a wonderful time at Todi castle. Everyone there made us feel at home. The castle and the surrounding area were beautiful.
The Todi Castle was a wonderful experience.
The Todi Castle was a wonderful experience that offered a lifetime worth of memories. I especially loved the cooking classes. I would say that since the Castle is somewhat succluded I would definately reccommend a rental car. Also I would stress the the Castle is not actually in Todi but in Collelungo.
A perfect balance of leisurely touring and ulimate relaxation
Our villa rental at Campo Rinaldo was fantastic. Not only was it a great place to be, well stocked, comfortable and beautiful; but the staff on the Todi estate were unbeatable. They were very conscienteous, hard working, attentive and down to earth.
We didn't actually stay at Cipresso, but were offered another nearby.
Pianesante was wonderful. Dreamy, serene spot in the country. The staff was absolutely wonderful; an excellent combination of giving us space and also meeting our every need. The location was central to getting to other Umbrian sites, as well. We cried when we left because the place and the people felt so much like family.
Perfect retreat for relaxation amid beautiful surroundings
Villa was in an idyllic setting affording 360 views of the Umbrian countryside. The house was well equipped with everything needed to relax and recharge. The kitchen was particularly well done as was the pool with a large retractable sun porch. Sabrina and her team were wonderful hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. Only two drawbacks, the first being minor and in many ways an advantage, being it's proximity to towns. To access involved very steep and windy roads and the nearest big town, Todi, was about 25 minutes away. The nearest village was about a six minute drive but not really walkable. The only other drawback was amount of bugs in villa ... not a huge deal and to be expected to an extent, but I think a periodic spraying and some caulking may help the situation. It only became an issue when at night sometimes a beetle would be crawling on you in bed.
Ubaldo - A super nice surprise !
Arriving at Ubaldo was one of that experiences where you experience living in a dream ! The photos shown in the website are not worth the beauty of the place and its magic environment. There is a lot to do nearby. We went to Montalcino, Orvietto, Assisi, Florence... all very handy from Vaiano. The view from the house is astonishing. The fact that it was part of the local church is just magic. Very well furbished and confortable. Beautiful pool and varandas. The garden just perfect. All the scents of lavender and white roses... And the local fruits, perfect peaches ! Just perfect ! I would also like to note that the booklet available at the villa, with information on restaurants, etc. was value added.

Relaxing
this was my first time renting a villa and I was pleased with the experience. It did not let me down. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful. The only thing we were not happy about was there were too many insects and bugs which I don't think theres much they could 've done to prevent. the only other thing was the roads were pretty rocky and steep and we did struggle a bit in the beginning to get up to the top of the hill where the villa is.
...ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!
THIS VILLA WAS TERRIFIC!...THE VIEW IS UNSURPASSED!...THE STAFF OF THE VILLA WERE OUTSTANDING AND WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND OUR EXPECTATIONS TO MAKE OUR STAY MOST COMFORTABLE.
the villa was perfect!
The villa was exactly as Laura from Luxury retreats and photographs described. We ah our 3 grown children, spouses, mates and etc...with us. It was perfect.
Wonderful Umbrian Adventure
Our family had a fantastic time at Villa Pianesante. Sabrina was cordial and always available to answer our questions. The villa location was superb, on top of a hill overlooking the surrounding area. The villa accomodations were good although it would have been nice to have screens on the windows to keep the mosquitos and insects out. Overall, the service provided by Luxury Retreats was superb as was the experience at the villa.

Great family vacation
Todi castle is situated in the classical, picturesque Italian countryside of your imagination. Days were beautifully warm and sunny and the nights are refreshingly cool. There are enough activities to please a varietiy of ages, and the staff was great at suggesting things that they thought we might like. The farm tour and culinary tours were fantastic and were enjoyed by all. Truffle hunting was a favorite. If privacy is a concern you might choose one of the villas. Half of the castle is occupied by the owner (who is wonderful) and the staff comes and goes from the area near the pool. They were NEVER a bother to us, but for people who want more seclusion a villa might be a better choice. Also, arranging to have dinner provided at the castle was one of the best decisions we made. The cooks were wonderful and we didn't miss any of the spectacular sunsets! All in all, it was the memorable experience we had hoped for. We've only been home a few days and are ready to go back!
Villa Cipresso Vacation
We wanted a remote place to stay and that turned out be true. The location near the Hill Towns and the train station were great. The winding rough roads were challenging at first but we got used to them.
