NEW: Luxury Vacation Rentals In Bay Harbor
Upscale retreat has all the ingredients for a relaxing getaway

Claiming five miles of pristine Lake Michigan shoreline all its own, the boating playground of Bay Harbor is the newest destination to be added to Luxury Retreats’ expanding portfolio. The planned community, nary a decade old, was borne of an idea to bring a little bit of New England to the Midwest, with a focus on luxury lifestyles in an authentic, small-town setting. Want nightclubs thumping all night? Go to Miami. Bay Harbor offers a more gentrified atmosphere, with gourmet restaurants and upscale, independent boutiques lining its boardwalk. The typical guest here, when not on the water, prefers to spend their time golfing, horseback riding and meandering through its wine shops and cafés. Just enjoying the naturally pretty views, including some famous sunsets over the lake, is another popular activity.
 The sailing town’s star attraction, naturally, is its marina, which has garnered accolades and been christened the new nautical center of the Great Lakes. A conference center welcomes business travelers, weddings and other special events. Blessed with such a location and facilities, Bay Harbor prompted Motorboating magazine to include it in a recent list of the US’ best ports of call, joining such well-established company as Key West, Nantucket, and Newport.
 Complementing the idyllic, unpretentious surroundings, private villa suites in Bay Harbor welcome guests with an understated luxury. Luxury Retreats’ newest accommodations include Sunset Harbor Suite, a three-bedroom unit within the community’s private enclave. The villa offers a spacious 2,725 square feet of indoor living space overlooking the water. Quality furnishings, like Brazilian cherry-wood floors and heavy granite countertops, feature prominently here. The master bedroom enjoys its own flat-screen HDTV and whirl tub.
 Our next Bay Harbor offering is the Harbormaster North Suite, a three-bedroom residence with a great position on the edge of the marina. The dining area is dominated by a rich two-story fireplace decorated, like most of the suite, with nautical touches in homage to the location. Guests can judge Lake Michigan’s celebrated sunsets for themselves with a front-row seat on Harbormaster’s large private deck.

Not to be forgotten, Bay Harbor’s youngest vacationers can join any number of activities organized through the resort. These include soccer games, arts and crafts and, of course, sailing lessons. |
