Back to Business in Hawaii
By Paul Atkinson (Introduction by Stacy Kennedy)

Our villa team in Maui is happy to report that everything in the islands is back to normal as Hawaiians learn that damage from Sunday’s earthquake is minimal. "We are open for business," says Governor Linda Lingle, as state officials work to tell future Hawaii-bound travelers that they should not change or cancel their travel plans.

Tourists Booking and Traveling to Hawaiian Islands

With the temperature set to drop before our eyes, many of us are already pondering where we’ll find some sun on our winter holidays. Hawaii is one of the most popular destinations and it takes planning to get the perfect winter getaway.

With an incredibly picturesque landscape, Hawaii boasts one of the most consistently gorgeous climates in the world, with the temperature rarely hitting below the mid-60’s (Fahrenheit) and seldom rising above the upper 80’s. The weather is always ideal for taking part in the outdoor activities that Hawaii has to offer, from surfing and snorkeling, to discovering the rainforests, waterfalls, and cliff-side trails that grace the islands.

But in order to take advantage of everything Hawaii has to offer, you will need to be organized and decisive, as luxury rentals in the islands are among the quickest to book. This doesn’t mean that there is no availability, but in order to rent the villa of your choice, you will need to plan ahead. We recommend booking a few months ahead, so if you want to bask in Hawaii’s sunshine this winter, it would be best to start planning soon.
Our selection of villas in Hawaii is not only one of the largest, but also the most prestigious. From ocean-front properties to villas overlooking PGA-level golf courses, Luxury Retreats prides itself on providing the most beautiful luxury rentals, with a concierge service that is next to none. For all of your on-island activities, whether it’s renting a car or hiring a private chef, our concierge team is available to take care of any details you may require to ensure your vacation is one you’ll never forget.
These are just a few of our favorite villas in Hawaii:

Sunset Palms, a three-bedroom, beachfront property located in Kapalua on Maui. This villa is located close to some of Maui’s finest restaurants and shopping areas, however you may find it difficult to leave the villa’s 100-foot patio, complete with pool, which serves as a gateway to your white sandy beachfront playground.

Diamond Head is a four-bedroom, beachfront villa on the island of Oahu. This luxurious villa offers the best of both worlds, with close proximity to sightseeing and Waikiki’s nightlife, yet secluded enough for you to enjoy the serene beachfront without any distractions.

Moorea Pavillion has one of the most spectacular oceanfront views in all of Hawaii. Located in Napili, on the west side of Maui, this wood-framed villa offers gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean, as well as the neighboring island of Molokai. The marine life in the area is breathtaking, and it can all be enjoyed from the villa’s ocean-view spa.

With breathtaking views of the Pacific and the islands surrounding Maui, Pineapple Pavillion is one of the most sought after villas in Hawaii. Located inside a gated community, this four-bedroom villa is within a mile from the best white sand swimming beaches, as well as world-class golf, tennis, snorkeling, fine dining and entertainment.

An Asian-Pacific custom-designed home featuring an Infinity pool, poolside spa and barbeque, the Garuda Estate also features sweeping 180 degree views of the ocean, whales and the island of Lanai. Elegantly furnished, this four-bedroom villa is a short drive away Maui's best swimming beaches, fine dining, shopping, sunset cruises and snorkeling.

Feel like a nut?

Surely when thinking about the magnificent state of Hawaii the exquisite landscapes, Pacific ocean and white sand beaches come to mind – and not a nut! Did you know that one of the most exported products on the islands is “the Hawaii nut"? The rich volcanic soil and tropical rains in the region offer the perfect growing conditions for macadamia nuts!
